Boko Haram terrorists in the early morning of Friday invaded a Nigerian Army base in Mandara-Girau, along the Mandara–Buratai Road in Biu Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State, killing at least eight soldiers and injuring several others.

Mandara-Girau is located few kilometers away from Biu town.
Security sources revealed that the attackers stormed the military location and opened fire on the troops, amidst heavy rainfall, adding that the terrorists came in very large numbers and took the troops unawares.
Part of the Army formation was overrun by the suspected Boko Haram terrorists as they carried out a brutal assault on troops stationed there.
And in a 1 minute, 38 seconds video clip obtained by this reporter, corpses of eight soldiers were seen covered with blankets on the ground.
A source stated: “162 Battalion Mandara Buratai Road, eight soldiers were killed in action. They attacked us at 4 a.m. today (Friday) when it was raining. They killed eight soldiers and beheaded them. Several others were injured during the attack.”
