Nigeria: Terrorists kidnap 10 Women, 2 Others in Kerawa, Giwa LGA, Kaduna State on New Year’s eve

At least 12 persons, including 10 women were abducted when terrorists attacked Kerawa village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State in the early hours of Friday.

A youth leader in the community, Jamil Kerawa, who spoke on the incident, said the terrorists operated in the area unchallenged, appealing to the State Government to help deploy security personnel in the village general area to stop further attacks.

“They abducted 12 people two male and 10 women after killing one person. One other was injured and rushed to hospital in Zaria. We need help in Kerawa because only God is protecting us,” he said.

Already, surrounding villages like Hayin Dam, Rago, Unguwar Salahu and Zariyawa were also displaced by bandits recently.

Another resident simply identified as Jafaru said his biological brother and his uncle son were among those abducted, regretting that the whole community was in confusion.

Meanwhile, there has been no official reaction from the State government and Police. But the Spokesperson of the State Police Command has promised to comment after getting details.
