Unknown Gunmen Ambushed, Massacred In Ihiala LGA, Anambra State

Scores of Unknown Gunmen terrorizing Okija, Ozoubulu, Oraifite, Ukpor, Iseke were on Friday shot dead at a burial event in Ihiala, Anambra State.

A viral video accompanied by a recorded voice which clarified earlier misrepresentation noted that the gunmen had stormed the burial ceremony on the claims that they were not settled.

The Unknown Gunmen were however ambushed by the Ihiala security outfit, already station in and around the burial arena.

In the ensuing shootout many casualties were reportedly recorded on the part of the gunmen.

“They started shooting without knowing that the area was covered with security men stationed at all entrances. So they took the battle to them in all directions, and there was no way to escape. There were mass casualties against the unknown gunmen.”

The source further noted that when shooting became so intense backups were mobilized from neighbouring Okija and Amorka, security reportedly joined in reinforcement.

The voice note further pointed out that the gunmen were not members of ESN, as nothing of such was found on them.

It noted that the gunmen have been a torn in the flesh of the people terrorizing Ihiala, Okija, Ozoubulu, Oraifite, Ukpor, Iseke.

“They have been operating in the name of ESN but they are not.”
