Over 25 Killed As Suspected Herdsmen Attack, Overrun Edikwu Ankpali in Apa, Benue State

At least, 25 people have been confirmed dead after suspected herdsmen attacked the Edikwu Ankpali community in Apa Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue state.

The attack, which occurred around 6 pm on Sunday, left several residents abducted and many injured.

Eyewitness who identified himself simply as Oche said the community is being overrun by armed attackers.

Meanwhile, another attack is reportedly ongoing in Naka town, the headquarters of Gwer West LGA, with heavy gunshots heard in phase 2.

Casualty figures for the Naka attack are yet to be determined.

These incidents followed recent violence in nearby communities, including the shooting of Catholic priest Rev Father Solomon Atongo.
