Tems Dedicates Her 2022 BET Award To Women Who “Dare To Dream”

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, who is professionally known as Tems, dedicated the Best International Act at the 2022 BET Awards to women who “dare to dream.”

Tems made history on Sunday night as she became the first African woman to win in the category with best collaboration with Justin Bierber and Wizkid for their song “Essence.”

Tems said after receiving the award: “Where I’m from, things like this don’t happen. This is a dream. If you’re watching me, I want you to imagine yourself as me because you are meant to be here too.”
