Brigadier General Thompson Bobby Ugiagbe Takes Over At Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps As Chief Of Military Intelligence

The newly appointed Chief of Military intelligence (Army), CMI (A), Brigadier General Thompson Bobby Ugiagbe, on Monday 27 June 2023, took over the mantle of leadership of the Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps as the 39th Chief of Military intelligence (Army) CMI (A).

Speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony, Brigadier General Ugiagbe, pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor.

He also vowed to continue the good job his predecessor started within the Army and the country at large, urging officers to continue to maintain high level of discipline and give proper mentorship and guidance to their subordinates.

Earlier in his address, the outgone CMI A, Maj Gen Danladi Ibrahim Salihu, urged officers and soldiers of the Corp to give the same level of support that was accorded him to the new CMI (A).

He further thanked the former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for finding him worthy to be the CMI (A).

He therefore commended efforts of field Commanders for bringing the security situation under control.

Major General Danladi Ibrahim Salihu also urged the incoming CMI (A) not to rest on his oars until the entire Armed Forces and the Nigerian Army as whole , and the nation at large enjoy peace and tranquility which will enable law abiding citizens to go about their businesses without any fear of molestation.

Highlight of the occasion was the decoration of the new CMI (A), General Udiagbe, with the insignia of the office and presentation of the flag of office by the outgone CMI (A) General Salihu.

Present at the occasion were former DMI Maj Gen RO Adhekegba , and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Maj Gen PE Udiande, Nigerian Army intelligence School Commandant Major General IG Lassa, Commanders of Military intelligence Brigade, Principal Staff Officers of the Headquarters Nigerian Intelligence Corps, among others.
