Terrorists Ambush Police Officers In Katsina State, Kill 5

Five policemen have lost their lives after falling in an ambush by terrorists in in Jibia Local Government Area (LGA), Katsina State.

Sources confirmed that the incident occurred last Sunday while the officers were returning from their duty post in Zandam village to the Jibia LGA council headquarters.

According to reports, four of the officers were killed at the scene of the attack. The fifth officer died while receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.

It was further revealed that following the attack, the terrorists confiscated five AK-47 rifles belonging to the slain officers.

Meanwhile, efforts to have the Katsina Police Command respond to the attack are still awaited as of the time of filing this report.

However, reports have it that the incident was confirmed in a security report, labelling the attack scene as a high-risk area, and warning against using the highway.

Lately, bandits have intensified their attacks on the community in Katsina despite the government’s effort to tame them.
