The 14-year-old girl is alleged to have attacked teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman also known as Amman Valley School, in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire
Footage shows the moments which led to the stabbings of two teachers and a pupil at a school. The footage, played to the jury at her trial, captured the moment the girl allegedly struck.
It also depicts her trying to attack Ms Elias while Ms Hopkin tries to restrain her before she is struck in the neck. An edited version, without the graphic attack, has been shared by the Crown Prosecution Service today as the trial at Swansea Crown Court continues.
The girl has previously admitted wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article on school premises, but denies attempted murder. She cannot be named for legal reasons.
Ms Hopkin was the worst injured, Prosecutor William Hughes KS said previously. She was flown to a hospital in Cardiff with stab wounds to her neck, knee, lower leg, chest and under her shoulder blade, a hospital in Swansea treated Mrs Elias and the teenager also for stab wounds.
The edited clip shows the girl scuffling with the teachers in the moments before and after the attack, as well as what happened prior to those events. Jurors saw a detailed breakdown of the pupil’s movements throughout the day.
She can be seen walking into the lower school hall and sitting behind a curtain next to a stage for around half an hour. She could be seen stabbing the knife into the floor. Later, she returned to the hall to join her friends. Ms Elias then entered the room, told her she did not have permission to be in there and ordered her to leave.
The girl continued talking to Ms Elias in the corridor, following her, before returning to the hall where she showed the other pupils the knife and shared a can of drink with a boy. She then walked outside after Ms Elias. Initially she walked past the teacher, who was speaking to Ms Hopkin, before then speaking to them.
She could be seen talking to the teachers with her hands in her pockets for around two minutes. Then she got out the knife and her attack began. It was 11.17am when her attack started on Ms Elias. Ms Hopkin is stabbed in the leg as she attempts to restrain her. Ms Elias got away, but the other teacher lost her grip on the girl, who stabbed her once in the neck and then in the back after approaching her face-on.
The girl was temporarily left on her own when Ms Hopkins managed to get away, then staff members Steven Hagget and Darrel Campbell turned up on the scene and attempted to calm the girl down. But she then headed in the direction of another group of pupils, then yelled at a girl and struck her with the knife after running towards her. Mr Campbell can then be seen restraining the girl.
The trial continues on Monday.
