Naval Chief’s Inspection Team Visits Operation Delta Safe to Boost Troops Morale

In a move to boost troops morale and further motivate them, the Chief of Naval Staff Inspection Team, led by Rear Admiral OK Oluwagbire, recently visited the Headquarters of Joint Task Force Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) in the Niger Delta Region.

The Team’s visit aimed to interact with naval personnel, identify operational challenges, and deliver the Chief of Naval Staff’s end-of-year goodwill message to the personnel.

During the visit, the Team was received by the Commander of Joint Task Force OPDS, Rear Admiral John Okeke.

The Team was briefed on the activities of OPDS, which have been instrumental in boosting crude oil production and maintaining stability in the Niger Delta Region.

Nigerian Navy (NN) has been actively involved in Operation DELTA SAFE, aimed at curbing crude oil theft and ensuring security in the Region and the efforts have led to a significant increase in crude oil production, with the output reaching an impressive 1.88 million barrels per day.

The visit is part of the Nigerian Navy’s efforts to boost the morale of troops in DHQ-led operations across the country, particularly during the festive season. During the visit, the CNS call on the troop to remain loyal, patriotic and apolitical.

The CNS also encouraged them to remain alert and shun any form of illegality or social vices. Similar visits have been made in the past, including a visit by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, who paid a working visit to the troops of Operation DELTA SAFE to boost troops morale.

NN’s commitment to maintaining security in the Niger Delta Region is evident in its ongoing operations, including Operation Delta Sanity, which has recorded significant successes in curbing crude oil theft and illegal refining activities.
