Troops of Sector 9, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), in collaboration with a civilian drone team, have arrested a suspected terrorist during an offensive operation in Plateau State.

Security sources said the operation was conducted at about 8:00 p.m. on April 26 around forest areas and adjoining high grounds between Kwaki-For in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area (LGA) and Fogoldep in Bokkos LGA.
The sources disclosed that troops made contact with suspected terrorists during the operation and engaged them, forcing the suspects to flee.
According to the sources, one suspected terrorist was apprehended in the process.
Items recovered include 30 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one AK-47 magazine, one motorcycle, two mobile phones, and amulets.
The sources added that the suspect and recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Meanwhile, troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have foiled a suspected militia attack in Jos South LGA of Plateau State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on April 26 when troops deployed at Bukuru responded to reports of movement of suspected armed elements toward Gero high ground, allegedly en route to Sabon Gida community.
The sources disclosed that troops immediately launched a pursuit operation and engaged the suspects with controlled fire, forcing them to withdraw and abandon their mission.
According to the sources, during follow-up exploitation of the general area, troops discovered one civilian who sustained gunshot wounds.
The injured victim was evacuated for medical attention.
The sources also noted that five motorcycles were reportedly carted away by the fleeing assailants during the attack.
Troops have since intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent further incidents and restore calm.
