A Kano man, Fahad Ali, has been arrested and arraigned by the Nigeria Police before a Magistrate court at Hajj Camp on allegations that he kidnapped his four-year-old daughter and demanded N2 million ransom from his wife, the mother of the child.

The prosecutor told the court that Shamsiyya Mohammed, mother of the child, reported to Police that on September 29, 2020 her daughter was kidnapped and after a while the kidnapper called her on phone asking her to pay N2 million ransom or the child would be killed.

After two weeks of investigation, the Police uncovered that it was her husband, Fahad Ali, the father of the girl, that was making such calls just as the kidnapped girl was found with him.

Ali denied the any wrong doing when the charges were read to him at the court.

The presiding Magistrate, Sakina Aminu,  ordered that the accused be remanded at correctional facility till 24th of this month for continuation of the matter.
