Widow of slain Abuja vendor disowns late husband’s father, brother over N500 million demand from Speaker, Gbajabiamila

The family of the slain Abuja Vendor, Ifeanyichukwu Okereke are now at each other’s throat over the demand of N500m compensation from Speaker Gbajabiamila, whose security aide killed the Vendor.

The slain Vendor’s wife, Josephine Okereke on Thursday addressed a press conference where she disowned her father in-law and her husband’s junior brother for demanding N500m compensation from the Speaker for the death of Ifeanyichukwu.

Senior lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), in a letter dated November 23, 2020, said he was given the mandate to write the letter by the father of the deceased, Okorie Okereke; and the younger brother to the deceased, Destiny Okereke.

However, Mrs Josephine Okereke has come out to deny any knowledge of demand of N500m compensation.

She urged Speaker Gbajabiamila to ignore her father in-law and the brother in-law and fulfill his (Speaker’s) earlier promise to ensure that she and the her children would not be allowed to suffer.

It would be recalled that the DSS had last week arrested the operative, Abdullahi Hassan, who shot Okereke while Gbajabiamila had also visited the family of the deceased and promised to ensure that they do not suffer.
