Soldiers burn pro-Biafra Secretariat In Imo State, BIM-MASSOB alleges

“Soldiers drafted from  Obinze barracks, this afternoon took  over the BIM – MASSOB Secretariat at Mgbee in Orlu LGA of the (Imo) State and barricaded the road leading to the office.

“The soldiers in two Hilux trucks and numbering about 12 collected fuel from a nearby filling station and barricaded the entrance leading to the  Secretariat before setting the building on fire.

“Some good Samaritans who attempted to  quench the fire were prevented from doing so while the fire rages on.

“They  vandalized the iron  door which had inscription ‘ BIM – MASSOB’ and  later poured  twenty five  litres of fuel on  the Secretariat after they had successfully removed 66 pieces  of plastic chairs and 6 roofing zinks inside the  office

“Meanwhile, the leader of  Biafra Independence Movement and Movement for Actualization of Sovereign  Sate of Biafra ( BIM – MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has condemned the military onslaught  against  his members saying that Indigenious people of Biafra are causing mayhem knowing they have no traces of address .

“In a statement issued to newsmen in Owerri and signed by his Media aide, Chris Mocha shortly after the confirmation of the burning ,warned members of BIM – MASSOB  not to retaliate or resort to violence in the face of the provocation.

Uwazuruike  who handed this warning to his followers not to retaliate said his  BIM – MASSOB members were not responsible  for the killing of  soldiers,  policemen or any body  wondering  how his group would  become a scapegoat in the crime  perpetrated by members of Indigenious people of Biafra, IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“He said the IPOB  are  engaging in mayhem and killing of security operative because the group wanted to provide our enemies with evidence to kill Ndigbo.”
