19 Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, 66 family members surrender to Operation Hadin Kai troops in Northeast Nigeria

  • Terrorists block Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, abduct passengers

Nineteen Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and their families on Monday surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Njimia area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Their families include 19 adult females and 49 children.

Sources said that arms and ammunition recovered from the terrorists include 8 AK-47 rifles, 1 GPMG, 2 FN rifles, one Dane gun and one Makarov pistol, 2 hand grenades, 27 AK-57 rifles, one pistol Mag, one 60MM MOR Bomb, IED accessories, 2 suicide vests, 72 trigger switches and 10 primed IED.

Other still include six packs of water gel explosives, 6 mobile phones, one camol bag, 2 hard drives, one plier, two scissors, 3 match boxes, 2 syringes, 2 needles, onepack of disposable infusion set, and sum of N55,000.

This came as the ISWAP terrorists on Monday blocked the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, abducting several commuters in the process.

The source said that the abducted commuters were inside a black Hummer vehicle and a Honda accord.
