Nigerian Army troops early Monday morning killed “scores” of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in a foiled attack on the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway, Northeast region of Nigeria.

Sources confirmed that the ISWAP attack was successfully repelled in the early hours of Monday around 1.25am after the terrorists attempted invading Maiduguri from Ngomari axis towards the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road.

The troops had earlier foiled an ISWAP attack and killed several of the terrorists in Babbangida Town of Tarmuwa LGA in Yobe State.
