Nigerian Army Troops 40 Boko Haram Terrorists in Maina-Hari, Biu LGA, Borno State

Nigerian Army troops have killed scores of Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists who attempted to attack Maina-Hari, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Maina-Hari is the the largest town in the Southern part of Borno State.

A source confirmed that the routing of the terrorists took place on Saturday.

Speaking about the incident, Haruna Aliyu, a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), said the insurgents came with six-gun trucks but that only few of the terrorists escaped as soldiers and local guards descended on them heavily.

“We overpowered the outlawed group under 45 minutes. It was the best outing in recent times. We killed more than 40 Boko Haram members today,” the CJTF member,  said.

The incident comes after the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) showed footage of its men attacking the Nigerian Army University Institute in Biu.

The terrorists who invaded the University shot sporadically, pulled down Nigerian and Army flags and set vehicles on fire.

The terrorists also killed two persons in the attack which took place on Monday.

The army authorities are yet to comment on the attack.
