Fr. Mbaka Questions Why Nnamdi Kanu was not also Granted Presidential Pardon

Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), has questioned why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, was excluded in the list of President Muhammadu Buhari’s amnesty programme as he did to former Governors Joshua Dariye and Jolly Nyame.

Mbaka was of the opinion that Kanu should have been first on the list.

This according to him would have been a motivating factor to end the ongoing southeast Mondays sit-at-home programme.

The clergy man insisted that such a pardon would have set in place, the process for unconditional release of the IPOB leader, thereby giving peace a chance in the region.

Mbaka disclosed this in his Easter message, at the weekend, lamenting that “the sit-at-home programme is costing us millions of money, especially to business people. We cannot pretend not to know the solution.

“They should release our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. If he is released, the sit-at-home programme will definitely stop. You can’t stop it by force.

“Soludo (Anambra governor) tried to use force to stop it. He is feeling the heat today. So, let them release our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and sit at home will stop.

“He is our brother. We lifted our hands up to God to pray for his release. We can’t run away from it.

“I heard the names of some people that were granted presidential amnesty, but his name was not there. I wonder what his crime was”, the fiery priest queried.
