Terrorists Relocate 22 Abducted Abuja Farmers In Niger State After Firefight With Local Vigilantes

Terrorists who abducted 22 Abuja farmers at Rafi n-Daji community in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have relocated their victims from their hideout at the Government Reserve Forest around Lafiya, Kpada and Duma communities in Lapai Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

A member of the Vigilante group in the area which had engaged the bandits confirmed that terrorists relocated after a gun battle with them last Friday.

He said the Vigilantes discovered their relocation with their captives after they mobilized back to the forest on Saturday to fight for the release of the Abuja captives but did not meet them.

He said the Vigilantes were still in the forest on the trail of the terrorists in order to locate their new hideout.

Earlier, five vigilantes were killed while six others sustained injuries after the terrorists laid ambush on them while attempting to rescue the 22 abducted victims at Rafi n-Daji community recently.

The Vigilantes then remobilized and returned to the forest, killing five bandits and injuring several others.

The Spokesperson of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, was yet to reply to an SMS on the incident.
