North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un Arrives Russia On Armoured Train For Talks With Putin

President Vladimir Putin is set to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vladivostok today or tomorrow.

Already, Kim Jong Un arrived overnight in Russia on an armoured train ahead of the meeting

According to Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov the trip is set to be a “full-scale visit” with a formal lunch also planned.

“There will be talks between the two delegations. And after that, if necessary, the leaders will continue their communication in a one-on-one format,” he added.

According to Mr Peskov, the main topic of the talks will be bilateral relations between the neighbouring countries.

He added: “We are not telling yet [where talks will take place]. In the Far East,” he said, adding that the talks will be held between the two delegations as well as in a one-on-one format, followed by an official dinner.

President Vladimir Putin is set to speak at an economic forum in Russia’s Pacific port of Vladivostok, 6,500 km (4,000 miles) east of Moscow, where the North Korean leader has already arrived.

Vladivostok is just 130km (80 miles) from Russia’s border with North Korea, and was the site of Mr Kim’s only known previous visit to the country in 2019 – after the collapse of North Korea’s nuclear disarmament talks with former US President Donald Trump.

The US has expressed concern North Korean will supply weapons for use in the war against Ukraine.
