The Supreme Court has reserved judgement in the appeal by Labour Party (LP) and its Presidential candidate, Peter Obi seeking to invalidate the declaration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the February 25, 2023 election.

Earlier, the Court also reserved judgment on the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, after hearing the submissions of the Counsels.

A seven-member panel of the Supreme Court headed by Justice John Okoro made the announcement after taking arguments from lawyers to the parties on Monday.

Alongside Justice Okoro include Uwani Abba-Aji, Lawal Garba, Ibrahim Saulawa, Adamu Jauro, Tijjani Abubakar and Emmanuel Agim.

“This appeal is reserved for judgment until a date to be communicated to parties,” Justice Okoro said.

During the hearing, Mr Obi’s lead lawyer,Dr Livy Uzoukwu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), urged the court to allow his client’s appeal.

He prayed the court to set aside the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja which affirmed Mr Tinubu’s election on September 6, 2023.
