Police arrest 30-year-old man in Anambra State for defiling a minor, filming act

Police in Anambra State have arrested a 30 years old man, Sunday Akanigbo and his accomplice, Ikemefuna Muoma, for raping a 12 years old girl in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo local government area. Muoma filmed and circulated the heinous act.

Anambra State Police Command spokesman, SP Haruna Mohammed who disclosed this to in Awka, said the violent act took place in April.

“On the 18/6/2020 at about 1:45pm, Police operatives attached to Ozubulu Division arrested one Sunday Akamigbo ‘m’ aged 30 years of Amankwa Ozubulu in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State.

 “Suspect had in the month of April this year allegedly defiled a twelve years old girl, while his accomplice, one Ikemefuna Muoma ‘m’ aged 28 years of the same address also arrested, filmed the dastardly act.”

Both men Haruna said have voluntarily confessed to the offences and the video clip has been recovered in their possession as an exhibit.

“The scene was visited by police detectives and the victim taken to the hospital for a medical examination. The Commissioner of Police CP John B. Abang has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation after which suspects would be charged to court for prosecution,” he said.
