FG Renews Commitment To Eliminating Insecurity – Defence Minister

Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has reassured Nigerians of the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling and eliminating the security challenges confronting the citizens nationwide.

Badaru, who spoke after a courtesy call to Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, during which he conveyed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directives, highlighted effective strategies to curb insecurity in the North-West region and nationwide.

The Minister emphasized consultations and engagements with the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), stakeholders, and affected communities, adding that “this collaborative approach will enable the review of operational strategies and implement positive changes to enhance security.”

Badaru, who is on a two-day visit to Kaduna State, is expected to visit the Headquarters of Sub- sector 3 and Section 1 Joint Task Force Operation Fansan Yamma Birnin Gwari Kaduna State, towards boosting troops’ morale.

Governor Sani commended the Minister of Defence, noting that the Joint Military Command demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to regional security.

He however urged the Minister to consider bringing Operation Safe Haven under 1 Division, Kaduna just as he praised progress on Operation Safe Corridor.

The Governor highlighted the importance of the establishment of a Command and Control Centre to coordinate joint efforts against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.
