Air Force Fighter Jets Destroy Boko Haram Structures, Logistics Base in Sambisa Forest

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Tuesday said that its aircraft under the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE, has destroyed Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) structures and logistics facilities at Garin Maloma and Parisu in the Sambisa Forest general area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, said in a statement that the air strikes were executed on 23 and 24 February 2020 as part of the ongoing Operation RATTLE SNAKE 3.

Daramola said that the attacks became imperative as it was confirmed “on credible intelligence” that the elements of the Boko Haram Terrorists that carried out the attack on Garkida in Adamawa State in which all the churches in the town and a soldier was killed last weekend, originated from camps within the Sambisa Forest area.

He explained that the Air Force attack aircraft were dispatched “to engage both locations, destroying several structures housing the terrorists as well as some of their logistics stores, which were seen engulfed in flames.”
