Boko Haram Kill 6 Nigerian Soldiers in Banki Area Ambush

Boko Haram terrorists continued their spate of violence by killing six Nigerian Army soldiers in an ambush on Sunday morning in the Banki area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

Sources said that the attack on troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion, occurred close to Banki Junction and that the dead include two Sergeants, two Lance Corporals and two Privates.

Banki, which is 130 kilometres Southeast of the Borno State capital of Maiduguri, is a major base for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) as the community houses about 45,000 people displaced by the Boko Haram violence.

The source said that, “Yes, we lost six soldiers to Boko Haram terrorists this Sunday morning.”

As is now the norm, none of the Army Spokespersons both at the Headquarters or Divisional level, was willing to speak on the ambush or the casualties.
