COVID-19: PDP directs partial shutdown of its Secretariats

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has directed a partial shutdown and skeletal activities at the National Secretariat, Abuja in line with measures being taken to safeguard the nation from further spread of COVID-19.

The directive also affected all state secretariats of the Party and it becomes effective from Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

According to a statement signed by the party’s Spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the NWC further directed all PDP secretariats and offices across the country to comply with this directive.

According to the directive issued on Monday, the PDP is already adopting pre-emptive health safety measures that will safeguard lives in all its offices nationwide.

The party enjoined Nigerians to comply with all directives by relevant government agencies and the World Health Organization (WHO) with regard to keeping safe distance to prevent further spread of the pandemic.

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that Nigeria has recorded its first death at the Specialist Hospital Gwagwalada Abuja from the epidemic on Monday while about 35 persons have been infected and two discharged.
