Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise to 254, with 44 discharged, six dead

Nigeria’s total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now risen to 254, from 238 the day before.

Also, the number of discharged has risen from 35 to 44 while an additional death has been recorded, bringing the total number of the dead through COVID-19 to six.

According to a Tweet from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), “Sixteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 10 in Lagos, 2 in the (Federal Capital Territory) FCT, 2 in Oyo, 1 in Delta and 1 in Katsina. As at 09:30 pm 7th April there are 254 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fourty-four have been discharged with six deaths.”

A breakdown of the cases shows that Lagos State has 130, FCT – 50, Osun – 20, Oyo – 11, Edo – 11, Bauchi – 6, Akwa Ibom – 5, Kaduna – 5, Ogun – 4, Enugu – 2, Ekiti – 2, Rivers -2, Benue – 1, Ondo – 1, Kwara – 2, Delta – 1 and Katsina-1

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases from 52 reporting member States of the African Union include 10,252 COVID-19 cases, 492 deaths, and 989 recoveries (discharged).
