COVID-19 Update: New cases jump by 14 as total number is now 288

Nigeria has recorded 14 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 288.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced this on its Twitter handle on Thursday that of the 14 new cases of #COVID-19 in Nigeria, 13 are from Lagos State and one is from Delta State.

In addition to the total number of 288, 51 have been discharged while a total of seven deaths has been recorded.

According to the Tweet by NCDC, “Fourteen new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 13 in Lagos and 1 in Delta State As at 09:30 pm 9th April there are 288 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Fifty-one have been discharged with seven deaths.

With the new figure, the breakthrough for the States show that Lagos has 158, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) – 54, Osun – 20, Edo – 12, Oyo – 11,  Bauchi – 6, Akwa Ibom – 5, Ogun – 4, Kaduna – 5, Enugu – 2, Ekiti – 2, Rivers -2, Kwara – 2, Delta – 2, Benue – 1, Ondo – 1 and Katsina -1.
