COVID-19: FG disowns “fake” Kano vaccine

The federal Government has warned Kano residents and indeed all Nigerians not to buy one mixture being circulated in Kano State as Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine.

Federal Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, gave the warning at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 press briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

Mohammed warned that the mixture had not been evaluated or approved by any agency of the Federal Government and that it was dangerous for anybody to take it.

The Information Minister also disclosed that more Nigerians have been made aware of the medical and environmental requirements to stem the spread of the virus.

He also disclosed that his Ministry was working modalities to bring in private media houses to cooperate and work together to ensure that the message of COVID-19 gets to more people.

In his own contribution, the Minister of State for Education, Hon Emeka Nwajiuba, re-affirmed that the Ministry had not ordered for re-opening of school.

He however disclosed that there were programmes on online teaching and urged parents to visit the website of the Ministry to see the teaching schedule to key in.

He also appealed to parents to ensure that their wards participate and be serious with the programmes.

On its own part, the Ministry of Environment official disclosed that the Ministry had trained 100 master trainers who have already started training 3000 other to enhance health surveillance on COVID-19.
