Update: Nigeria records 195 new cases of COVID-19, total now 1,532

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday night announced 195 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,532.

NCDC also said that no recovery were recorded in Nigeria all through Tuesday and that one new State, Nasarawa, reported its first case of COVID-19 on the same Tuesday.

According to NCDC in its Twitter handle, “195 new cases of #COVID19 reported; 80-Lagos, 38-Kano, 15-Ogun, 15-Bauchi, 11-Borno, 10-Gombe, 9-Sokoto, 5-Edo, 5-Jigawa, 2-Zamfara, 1-Rivers, 1-Enugu, 1-Delta, 1-FCT 1-Nasarawa As at 11:50pm 28th April- 1,532 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with Discharged: 255 and Deaths: 44.

“On the 28th of April 2020, 195 new confirmed cases and four deaths were recorded in Nigeria. One new State has reported a case in the last 24 hours. Till date, 1,532 cases have been confirmed, 255 cases have been discharged and 44 deaths have been recorded in 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The tweet added that, “one case previously reported in Gombe State is now recorded as a Borno State case. Therefore the total number of cases in Borno is 53 and 46 in Gombe. For a breakdown of cases by States, as at 11:50pm 28th April, Lagos State currently had 844, FCT-158, Kano-115, Ogun-50, Osun-34, Gombe-46, Katsina-30, Borno-53, Edo-30, Oyo-21, Kwara-11, Akwa Ibom-12, Bauchi-29, Kaduna-10, Ekiti-8, Ondo-8, Delta-7, Rivers-7, Jigawa-7, Enugu-3, Niger-2, Abia-2, Zamfara-4, Sokoto-19, Benue-1, Anambra-1, Adamawa-1, Plateau-1, Imo-1, Taraba 8, Bayelsa 1, Ebonyi 1 Kebbi 1, Nasarawa-1”
