Update: Nigeria records 170 new cases of COVID-19, total now 2,558

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night announced 170 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,558.

The NCDC also announced that 15 recoveries and two deaths were recorded in Nigeria all through Sunday.

According to NCDC in its official Twitter handle: “The 170 new cases of #COVID19; 39-Lagos, 29-Kano, 24-Ogun, 18-Bauchi, 15-Kaduna, 12-FCT, 12-Sokoto, 8-Katsina, 7-Borno, 3-Nasarawa, 2-Adamawa, 1-Oyo. As at 11: 55 pm, 2,558 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria with 400 Discharged and 87 Deaths.

“As of May 3rd 2020, 34 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria have recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID-19.

“For a breakdown of confirmed cases by States, as at 11:55mp May; Lagos State currently has 1,107, FCT-278, Kano-342, Ogun-80 Osun-34, Gombe-92, Katsina-46, Borno-82, Edo-43, Oyo-34, Kwara-14, Akwa Ibom-16, Bauchi-71, Kaduna-81, Ekiti-11, Ondo-13, Delta-17, Rivers-14, Jigawa-7, Enugu-4, Niger-3, Abia-2, Zamfara-9, Sokoto-66, Benue-1, Anambra-1, Adamawa-6, Plateau-1, Imo-2, Taraba 8, Bayelsa 5, Ebonyi 3, Kebbi 2, Nasarawa-12 and Yobe 4”
