Update: Nigeria records 148 new cases of COVID-19, total now 2,950

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday night announced 148 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,950

The NCDC also announced that 64 recoveries and five deaths recorded in Nigeria all through Tuesday.

According to NCDC in its official Twitter handle, “148 new cases of #COVID19; 43-Lagos, 32-Kano, 14-Zamfara, 10-FCT, 9-Katsina, 7-Taraba, 6-Borno, 6-Ogun, 5-Oyo, 3-Edo, 3-Kaduna, 3-Bauchi, 2-Adamawa, 2-Gombe, 1-Plateau, 1-Sokoto, 1-Kebbi. As at May 5th, 2,950 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria with 481 Discharged and 98 Deaths.

“As of May 5th 2020, 34 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria have recorded at least one confirmed case of COVID19. For a breakdown of confirmed cases by States, as of 5th of May; Lagos State currently have 1,226, FCT-307, Kano-397, Ogun-91, Osun-35, Gombe-96, Katsina-92, Borno-106, Edo-65, Oyo-44, Kwara-14, Akwa Ibom-16, Bauchi-83, Kaduna-84, Ekiti-12, Ondo-13, Delta-17, Rivers-14, Jigawa-39, Enugu-4, Niger-4, Abia-2, Zamfara-, Sokoto-67, Benue-2, Anambra-1, Adamawa-14, Plateau-2, Imo-2, Taraba 15, Bayelsa 5, Ebonyi 3, Kebbi 3, Nasarawa-12, Yobe-4.”
