Nigeria records 229 new COVID-19 cases, total figure now 8,068

Nigeria on Monday recorded 229 new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 8,068.

Also on Monday, a total of seven new COVID-19 related deaths were recorded, taking the toll from 226, the figure as of Sunday, to 233.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said in its verified Twitter handle that as usual, Lagos States led the the number of recorded new cases with 90, Katsina 27, Imo 26, Kano 23, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) 14, Plateau 12, Ogun nine, Delta seven, Borno and Rivers five each, Oyo four, Gombe three, Osun two, while Anambra and Bayelsa one each.

According to NCDC, “Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases are 8,068. Those discharged are 2,311, while 233 persons have unfortunately lost their lives.”
