Okporo/Rumuodara in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, was in pandemonium Tuesday morning following report of the death of one Clement said to be a Tricycle (Keke) Task Force personnel.

Global Upfront Newspapers (GUN) learned that one Kelvin, also a Keke Task Force personnel and a native of Edo State reportedly used machete to cut Clement who is his colleague over disagreement they had last Sunday on the sharing formula for their hustle.

We gathered that the suspect, Kevin, was arrested same Sunday May 24, after the incident while the victim was taken to hospital.

Our source revealed that sympathizers and relatives of the deceased took to the street to protest when report of death of Clement filtered into the air on Tuesday morning. But the protest became violent as hoodlums hijacked the process and starting unleashing mayhem on people.

The source disclosed that it took intervention of Okporo Police Station at Rumuodara and State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to bring the situation under control.

In the process, some persons were also arrested.

The Youth President of Rumuodara, Frank Weli, who confirmed the incident, said he quickly informed the Police on hearing about the protest.

He dissociated his Youth from any destruction while saying that hoodlums wanted to take advantage of the situation and cause mayhem but they were stopped by the Police.

We further gathered that the suspect, Kelvin has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
