Attacks by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, bandits in Northern Nigeria leaves over 110 dead

Reprisal attacks by Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists has left, Faduma Koloram, in Gubio local government area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria in ruins as the terrorists torched every house and killed over 70 people for allegedly sharing information about their activities in the area with the military and other security agencies.

And in Kadisau, Maigora, Kabalawa, Kwakware, Raudama and Unguwar Wahabi communities in Faskari Local Government of President Muhammadu Buhari’s home State of Katsina, armed bandits killed over 40 people, mostly women and children.

A source said that “the armed bandits, as usual, stormed the communities on motorcycles and abused some young girls and married women while setting houses and food stores on fire. They robbed the villagers before they rustled away domestic animals, especially cows and sheep.”

Meanwhile, against rumours that the bandits stormed funeral service (Janaizah) Wednesday morning for some of the victims in Kadisau, the Katsina State Police Spokesperson, Mr Gambo Isah, dismissed the tale, saying that “the Area Commander in Funtua, DPOs and military personnel are currently in the area to ensure maximum security during the burial and afterwards.”

Sources said that the terrorists, while killing the over 70 persons, gunned down over 300 cows and camels before carting more than 1,000 others away.

The attacks, which took place at about noon on Tuesday, lasted for over two hours.

Sources said that the terrorists arrived in vehicles and on motorcycles, shooting with AK-47s, razing the village and stealing 1,200 cattle and camels.

They accused the residents of the village of sharing information on Boko Haram/ISWAP’s movements with Nigerian military and other security agencies.
