Nigeria records highest daily toll of COVID-19 infections with 779 new cases, total now 24,077

Nigeria on Saturday recorded the highest daily Coronavirus (COVID-19) toll of 779 new cases.

It also recorded a total of four deaths.

The total figure of 779 new cases brings to 24,077, the total number of confirmed cases.

Out of the 24,077 confirmed cases, 8,625 have been treated and discharged while a total of 558 deaths have been recorded in 35 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

As of Friday, 684 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the country, which brought the number of infections to 23, 298. Out of the 23, 298 confirmed cases, 14, 491 are active cases, 8,253 cases have been treated and discharged cases while 554 deaths recorded in 35 States and the FCT.

On Thursday, Nigeria recorded 594 new cases of COVID-19, which brought the total number of infections in the country to 22,614. And out of the 22,614 confirmed cases, 14, 243 cases were active, 7,822 cases were treated and discharged while 549 deaths were recorded.

The 779 new cases were reported from 22 States of the federation with Lagos State recording the highest infections toll of 285, Rivers(68), FCT(60), Edo(60), Enugu(56), Delta(47), Ebonyi(42), Oyo(41), Kaduna(19), Ogun(18), Ondo(16), Imo(12), Sokoto(11), Borno(9), Nasarawa(8), Abia(5), Gombe(5), Kebbi(5), Kano (4), Yobe (3), Ekiti(3), Osun(2).
