Nigeria records 490 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, after recording highest daily toll of new cases, 779, Saturday

Nigeria on Sunday recorded 490 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 24,567.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) also confirmed via its Twitter handle that seven new deaths were recorded in the country in 20 States of the country.

The NCDC said that 130, 154 samples have been collected from 35 States and the Federal Capital Territory.

On Saturday, Nigeria recorded the highest daily Coronavirus (COVID-19) toll of 779 new cases.

It also recorded a total of four deaths.

The total figure of 779 new cases brings to 24,077, the total number of confirmed cases.

As of Friday, 684 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the country, which brought the number of infections to 23, 298.

The health agency said that the Lagos recorded the highest number of on Sunday with 118 while Delta has 84 cases and Ebonyi recorded 68 new cases.

Others are FCT-56, Plateau-39, Edo-29, Katsina-21, Imo-13, Ondo-12, Adamawa-11, Osun-8, Ogun-8, Rivers-6, Kano-5, Enugu-3, Bauchi-3, Akwa Ibom-3, Kogi-1, Oyo-1, and  Bayelsa-1.
