Nigeria records 50,964 COVID-19 cases from 366,244 sample tests with 476 new infections on Thursday

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said that 476 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) was recorded in the country on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 50,964.

The NCDC also said via its official Twitter handle that seven COVID-19 related deaths was recorded in the country on Thursday.

The 50,964 confirmed cases was recorded out of the 366,244 COVID-19 sample tests so far conducted in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC data, Nigeria has 12,403 active cases of the virus who are under treatment, 37,569 patients treated and discharged while 992 deaths had been recorded across the nation’s 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The heal agency figures shows that the 476 new infections came from 18 States with Lagos recording the highest figure of 235, FCT (44), Kaduna (41), Borno (33), Plateau (28), Abia (13), Edo (13), Rivers (12), Imo (11), Oyo (10), Kano (9), Kwara (7), Enugu (5), Katsina (5), Gombe (4), Ogun (4), Nasarawa (1), and Zamfara (1).
