COVID-19: Nigeria records 1,002 deaths, 52,227 confirmed cases from 378,023 sample tests; 322 new infections Sunday

The number of people who have died of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Sunday topped 1,002 with the total number of confirmed cases at 52,227.

Specifically, the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) said in a tweet that on Sunday, Nigeria recorded 5 deaths and 322 new infections.

Altogether, Nigeria has conducted 378,023 sample tests, across the 36 States of the country and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The NCDC data also shows that Nigeria has 12,280 COVID-19 patients under treatment while 38,945 patients have been treated and discharged.

As is the pattern, Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases on Sunday with 130, followed by Bauchi State with 36 cases and the Federal Capital Territory with 25 cases.

Other States recorded the following figures – Edo(17), Bayelsa(14), Ogun(14), Oyo(14), Anambra(13), Kaduna(12), Ondo(11), Abia(10), Osun(6), Plateau(5), Kwara(5), Kano(4), Ebonyi(3), Sokoto(2), Borno(1)
