“Enough is enough, we will henceforth defend ourselves” – IPOB

Reeling from the reported killing of its members, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Monday warned that it will henceforth defend itself if attacked by the nation’s security agents.

In a statement laced with anger, the separatist outlawed group wondered why other ethnic-based pressure groups would allegedly be allowed to hold meetings armed while the security agents would descend on unarmed IPOB members each time they gathered to hold their prayer meetings.

The statement, issued by IPOB Spokesperson, Emma Powerful, also attacked journalists for reporting the views of the Government in matters concerning the face off between IPOB and security agencies.

It also criticized the United States and the United Kingdom for keeping quiet while IPOB members were being killed by agents of the Nigerian Government.

Said the statement: “Oduduwa Amotekun are armed, Fulani Miyetti Allah are armed, Fulani terror herdsmen are armed, Fulani funded Bandits are armed, Fulani Ansaru Brigade is armed.

“They all gather in public without any military interference. But as soon as Biafran youths congregate in any location to pray, every Nigerian military formation including POLICE, DSS, ARMY, AIR FORCE stationed in Biafraland will descend on them firing indiscriminately with the intention of killing as many innocent people as possible because IPOB is a peaceful movement.

“The most shocking of all is that lazy, evil & wicked Nigerian journslists will refer to such unprovoked attack as a CLASH. Little wonder the world see and depict Lucifer as a black African man.

“Such mind boggling journalism and silence of UK & US diplomatic missions to Nigeria is proof that this ongoing Muslim extermination of Judeo-Christian Biafrans has the official backing of both countries. @UK in Nigeria is aiding and abetting murderous Fulani conquest of Biafraland.”

It lamented the killing of its members, saying that henceforth, they would “defend our lives.”
