Nigerian-born Madu, new Alberta Province, Canada Minister of Justice, thanks Nigerians, seeks enthronement of merit and hard work in Nigeria

Nigerian-born Kelechi (Kaycee) Madu, recently appointed the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General, the Provincial Secretary and Keeper of the Great Seal of the Province of Albert by the Premiere of Alberta, Jason Kenney has thanked Nigeria and Nigerians in Diaspora for their prayers and support.

In a message on his Twitter handle, Kelechi Madu also said that he looks forward to the day Nigeria and Africa would be places where hard work and merit are rewarded.

According to the Twitter message: “Thank you for all the support and prayers coming from Nigeria and Nigerians in the Diaspora. I look forward to the day when Nigeria and Africa become places where hard work and merit are rewarded. Chukwu Gozie (God bless)!”

Kelechi Madu was serving as the Minister of Municipal Affairs before his new appointment.

Kelechi Madu made history when he became the first Nigerian-born member of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta following elections in 2019. He was the sole candidate of the The United Conservative Party to be elected into the assembly.

Madu graduated with a bachelor of laws from the University of Lagos. He migrated to Canada in 2005 with his wife who enrolled in postgraduate studies at the University of Alberta.
