Ichakporoko Foundation: Secondary School Football Returns in Udenu and Igbo Eze Local Government

A non-governmental Governmental Charity organization, Ichakporoko Foundation has finalized plans to activate Secondary School Football in two local Government Areas of Enugu state known as Udenu/Igbo Eze North Federal Constituency.

The Chairman of the Planning Committee set up by the Foundation to execute this laudable project, Prof. Romanus Eze of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, disclosed this at the weekend after their meeting.

Prof. Eze said that the Committee met at the Foundation’s office at the Secretariat road, Obollo Afor and took far reaching decisions including the take off of the competition and the climax date scheduled for March 2021.

The committee also resolved to seek partnership with some kind hearted persons from the two local Government Areas. In this regard the Foundation  plans to seek audience with the Local Government officials in the two Areas for possible collaboration to make the tournament a befitting one.

He said that the football fiesta is In pursuit of one of the objectives of  the  Foundation aimed at a purposeful engagement of the youths of the area through Sports. It’s also designed to expose the untapped youth talents in the area to local and international markets and academy and through that reduce tendencies of vice in the society.

According to Prof. Eze, the arrangement for the competition shall start in earnest soon to  culminate in a grand finale in March 2021.

Recall that Ichakporoko Foundation was inaugurated on February 10, 2020 in Obollo, Udenu Local Government Area principally to carry out charity work  in pursuit of  the ideals of late community leader and politician, Elder MICHAEL ODO-ABONYI alias Ichakporoko as a legacy to  his interest in the development of his immediate and extended societies.
