One killed as violence breaks out in Jangebe during emotional reunion of abducted schoolgirls with families

At least one person has been killed while many sustained injuries in Jangebe, the Zamfara community where over 300 schoolgirls were abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, last week.

After the students were released, they were received in Gusau, Zamfara State capital, before the State government organised counselling and rehabilitation for them.

On Wednesday, they were brought back to the school to reunite with their family members.

However, some youths in the community became unruly during the reunion, attacking anyone in sight.

But a source said that in an attempt to stop the unruly behaviour which was getting out of hand, one of the violent youths was shot dead by security operatives.
