Bandits continued its reign of terror in Kaduna State as they killed seven people and injured many in series of attacks in Igabi, Giwa and Chikun Local Government Areas of the State.
The bandits had stormed Gangi village, Igabi local government, shooting sporadically, killing four residents and rustling cows.
State Commissioner for Internal Security and Homes Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement on Thursday that two other persons that sustained gunshot injuries were receiving treatment.
Aruwan added that during the raid, the bandits also razed three houses belonging to Mohammad Jibril, Salisu Ya’u and Idris Muhammad, burning a pick-up truck belonging to one Umaru Saleh.
“In all, 20 cows belonging to two residents of the village were rustled and herded away by the bandits. In another incident, armed bandits attacked Marke village in Giwa local government area and killed one Rabiu Haruna,” he said.
At Kuriga in Chikun local government area, armed bandits killed two people along Buruku road linking Birnin Gwari local government area.
He said another victim, Mansur Dada, sustained injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.
Aruwan said the state Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted the reports with sadness, and sent his condolences to the families of those killed, while praying for the repose of their souls. He also wished the injured citizens a quick recovery.
