Bandits again kill 8 in Kaduna, injure 4

Bandits continued its violence in Kaduna State as they on Wednesday invaded Chikun, Giwa, and Kajuru Local Government Areas of the State, killing eight people and injuring four.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, said in a statement Wednesday available reports shows that “at Kan Hawa Zankoro, near Ungwan Yako in Chikun Local Council, bandits shot at a vehicle, which somersaulted, leading to the death of six persons, and leaving four others injured.

“Those who lost their lives in the crash were listed as Aisha Bello, Uwaliya Shehu, Ramatu Sani, Muhammad Shehu, Aminu Ibrahim, and Ibrahim Abdu.”

Those injured included Zainab Usman, Surayya Bello, Khalifa Sani, and Ushe Sani.

According to Aruwan, in another incident, the bandits attacked locals at Iburu in Kajuru LGA and killed one Amos Yari.

“Further, armed bandits invaded Hayin Kanwa village, Fatika district, Giwa Local Council, and shot dead one Alhaji Sule, a businessman in the area, after he resisted attempts to kidnap him.

“Governor Nasir el-Rufai received the reports with sadness and prayed for the repose of the souls of those slain while sending condolences to their families. He also wished the injured speedy recovery.”
