  • Report says Shekau blew himself up when ISWAP terrorists invaded his hideout

Book Haram Terrorists (BHT) and Sunna lil Da’wa Wal Jihad (JAS) leader, Abubakar Shekau, is finally dead, according to report by Eons Intelligence.

Shekau served as deputy leader to the Boko Haram terrorists’ group’s founder, Mohammed Yusuf, until Yusuf was executed in 2009.

Eons Intelligence, which prides itself as “your one-stop destination for intelligence and factual news coverage,” had yesterday night reported via a tweet that the terrorist leader might have been killed as the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists invaded his base in Sambisa Forest.

According to the tweet: BREAKING: Is Abubakar Shekau Dead? Eons Intelligence have been monitoring info from Sambisa Forest over d recent attack launched by #ISWAP on Shekau’s #BH faction. Sources in the know insist that #JAS leader, Abubakar Shekau was killed in the attack. This info remains unverified.

But on Thursday morning, Eons Intelligence confirmed the death.

According to it, “Intelligence sources have confirmed dt #BH #JAS Leader, Abubakar Shekau is finally dead. This was following d #ISWAP attack on Sambisa fortress of #shekau led by ISWAP commander, Baana DUGURI. Shekau was said to have blew himself to avoid being captured alive.”

This is not the first time that reports of the death of Shekau has surfaced.

In 2009, Nigerian authorities believed that Shekau was killed during  clashes between Boko Haram and security forces.

But in July 2010, Shekau appeared in a video, claiming leadership of the terrorist group.

He has subsequently been regularly reported dead and is thought to use body doubles.

In March 2015, Shekau pledged allegiance to then ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi..
