Buhari hosts President of Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younis Menfi, at Presidential Villa, Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday hosted the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Younis Menfi, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Menfi and members of his entourage were received at the forecourt of the Presidential Villa by President Buhari, along with Ministers and Presidential aides.

President Buhari had repeatedly blamed the insecurity in Nigeria on the influx of illegal weapons arising from the crisis in Libya.

Sources said that the two leaders deliberated on bilateral issues meant to benefit and enhance the economies of both countries.

President Menti would also use the opportunity of the meeting with the Nigerian leader to console him and the people of Nigeria over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other military officers last Friday.

The visiting Libyan leader had on May 25 participated in the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
