NAF airstrikes destroy Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists’ strongholds in Lake Chad Basin

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets have begun coordinated multiple airstrikes on the strongholds of Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ Commanders at the Lake Chad axis.

NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, who confirmed the attacks on the locations, said: “We don’t differentiate between Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists as we successfully launched the devastating intelligence-led aerial attacks targeting the terrorists in those locations.”

Sources said that the intelligence inspired operation was targeted at various Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists’ camps in Sabon Tumbu, Jibularam and Kwalaram.

A source involved in the operation said that the NAF fighter jets also bombarded the spiritual base and training camps of the terrorists in Northeastern part of Borno State and the fringes of Lake Chad.

“Intelligence revealed that their leaders including Ali Chakkar and other top ISWAP commanders were holding a meeting when the attacks were launched on their locations.

“The precision-guided airstrikes coordinated by the Air Task Force Command resulted in the killing of very large numbers of ISWAP Boko Haram Terrorists.”

The NAF bombardments came amidst the “unholy alliance” forged last week between Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists in a 13-minute video in which the terrorists placed “their hands atop one another, while chanting words of solidarity, to demonstrate their reuniting and togetherness.”

Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurashi, the leader of the international terrorist organisation, Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has endorsed the “unholy alliance” and pledge of loyalty and allegiance from the Boko Haram/Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Northeast Nigeria, commending ISWAP for the death of Abubakar Shekau, Boko Haram factional leader who blew himself up on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

Already, Abu Hamza Al-Quraishiy, the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant Spokesperson, in a message published by the international terrorists’ weekly publication “Al-Naba” and spread in its weekly newsletter in Arabic language, hailed the reunion while branding Jama’atu Ahlussunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad (JAS), Shekau’s terrorists’ subgroup as “Khawarij,” a disparaging sectarian word for Muslims who pour the blood of fellow Muslims without a valid basis.

They were also accused of causing splits and hardships among jihadists in West Africa in an audio message titled “And You Are the Supreme Ones if You Are Believers,” which was released earlier this week.
