Worshipers mob Obi in Abuja… as he calls on priests to pray for politicians to get it right

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, was at the weekend mobbed by worshipers at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Karu, Abuja where he had gone last Sunday to felicitate with the parish priest Rev Fr Uche Umechikelu who was celebrating his 25th Priestly ordination anniversary.

Obi had sneaked into the magnificent Church easily the biggest Catholic Church in Abuja Archdiocese for the mass that had the emeritus Archbishop, Cardinal John Oneyekan, Auxillary Bishop, Rev Dr Anselm Umoren and over two dozen priests and religious and sat with the worshipers.

He refused the Church warden’s entreaties to come to the front roll saying, seats should not be reserved in the Church, it’s not a social or political gathering.

As Obi sat with the worshippers they continued wondering who he was until he was recognized as one of the worshippers and the Church roared Okwute! Okwute!

During the picture taking session inside the church with the Bishops, priests and the celebrant, Obi was summoned to join them and that was when the worshippers saw him and roared his name again.

Soon after the mass, everybody, priests and worshipers wanted to talk to him all wishing him well and praying for him to lead this country on day.

Everybody, women , youths and children wanted a selfie with him. One woman insisted that Obi take picture with the little daughter which he obliged and had to carry the girl.

Another woman after identifying Obi held him for over ten minutes pouring prayers for him to have the opportunity to rule and turn this country around for good.

As priests after priests prayed for him Obi told them to also pray for all Nigeria politicians to understand the situation and move in the right direction.

The celebrant, Rev Fr Umechikelu a priest of the Missionary Society of St Paul (MSP), thanked Obi for gracing the ceremony and prayed for God’s mercy and grace in his life to continue his good works in the society.
