Abba Kyari is No 1 trending Twitter topic with over 104k tweets worldwide Friday evening

The travails of Nigeria’s ‘Super Cop,’ Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Alhaji Kyari, is the number one trending topic on Twitter in parts of the world for most hours of Friday evening.

In Germany, Abba Kyari is the number one trending topic with over 104k tweets

A trending topic on Twitter is often something that is hot news/conversation within the general public which everyone is talking about, and everyone is sharing their views on.

Trending topics usually become popular either through a concerted effort by users or because of an event that prompts people to talk about a specific topic.

While some of the tweets are in support of the embattled ‘Super Cop,’ most were critical of him and the Nigeria Police system.

Some of the tweets read:

Former Presidential candidate, Kingsley Moghalu@MoghaluKingsley said: “President@MBuhari has frequently opted for subjective loyalties over real political will on national security and fighting corruption. The US @FBI request for the extradition of accused police chief Abba Kyari in the Hushpuppi case will put him and Nigeria in the global spotlight.”

Reno Omokri@renoomokri tweeted: “It will be very hard for Abba Kyari to deny the charges in the FBI’s indictment. I searched the numbers listed in the affidavit on TrueCaller. They’re matched to Kyari. Note that the confirmed numbers exchanged texts with Hushpupi’s numbers. How do we explain that?”

Another, FS Yusuf@FS_Yusuf said: “Abba Kyari isn’t d only one that has had money transaction with Hushpuppi. We believe FBI has 100% access into Hushpuppi phones. There is a reason they’re singling out Abba Kyari for now. If u love him, advise him to comply & not the peristaltic fronting he is doing on Facebook.”

For Instablog9ja@instablog9ja: “Abba Kyari is a clean cop. Tell me who is a saint in Nigeria — Davido’s aide, Isreal

Jaafar Jaafar@JaafarSJaafar: “DCP Abba Kyari was one of the police officers sent to Kano on Inconclusive Election Day to upstage the upright CP ‘Singham’ and hand over policing power to machete-wielding, dagger-bearing thugs.”
