Bandits kidnap 13 persons along Kwara, Ekiti axis, including 7 wedding guests, a Pastor and wife

The Nigeria Police, Kwara State Command has confirmed the abducted of 13 people by bandits operating between Kwara and Ekiti States.

The 13 kidnapped persons include seven wedding guests, a pastor and his wife and they were abducted on Saturday.

Sources said that the seven guests were returning to the Kwara State capital, Ilorin, from a wedding held in Ekiti State.

They were accosted by the kidnappers while travelling in a Sienna bus at a point between Oke-Onigbin and Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State about 5.35pm on Saturday.

The second incident happened between Ekan-Meje in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State and Ekiti State which involved a pastor and his wife as well as four other persons.

Public Relations Officer in Kwara State Police Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the two kidnapping incidents.

But he said that nine victims of the two incidents were rescued.
